Wedding dance lessons Your first dance, learned together, not improvised

First dance, waltz, salsa, bespoke choreography. The dance teachers in the directory.

1 approved teacher 1 province

A first dance does not require knowing how to dance. It requires a few lessons with someone who knows how to teach. The goal is not a perfect routine: it is walking onto the floor without looking at your feet, to a song you chose together.

The teacher in the directory

Just one for now. The page will grow with the directory.

Or by province

Listings are not spread evenly across the provinces. That is why the province is a filter here, and not a page of its own.

How to prepare your first dance

  1. 1Pick the song firstThe tempo decides everything: a waltz, a slow dance and a rock number are not learned the same way. The teacher builds the dance around it.
  2. 2Start early, but not too earlyEarly enough for the steps to feel natural, late enough not to forget them before the big day.
  3. 3Practise in your wedding shoesA long dress and heels change your balance. The last lessons happen in your outfit, or at least in your shoes.
  4. 4Think about the real floorParquet, tiles or grass, the surface and size of the floor change what is possible. Give the teacher its dimensions.
  5. 5Keep an open endingAn ending that invites your guests to join you takes the pressure off the last chorus.

Five questions to ask

  • How many lessons do you recommend for our level?
  • Do you build the choreography around our song?
  • Do lessons take place in your studio, at our home or at the venue?
  • Can we film the lessons to practise in between?
  • Do you offer a rehearsal at the venue before the day?

What it costs

From 60 to 120 € per hour of private lesson for the couple, and a package of several lessons for a full first dance.

These ranges are market benchmarks, not measured averages.

What's changing right now

  • ·Two-part first dances: a slow start, then a change of rhythm that makes the room laugh.
  • ·Shorter dances on an edited song, rather than the whole track.
  • ·A custom edit made with the DJ to flow straight into the party.
  • ·Rehearsals at the venue itself, to get used to the real floor.

Frequently asked questions

Do we need to know how to dance?

No. Most couples start from scratch, and the teacher adapts the steps to their level and to the song they chose.

How many lessons does it take?

It depends on the song and on how comfortable the couple feels. A simple first dance takes a few lessons, a worked choreography takes more.

Can the teacher come to the venue?

Some travel, others teach in their own studio. A rehearsal on the real floor, a few days before, is often worth more than one more lesson.

Each one sorts its vendors by what really sets them apart.

Two minutes on the floor you will replay for years

A first dance is not judged on technique. It is judged on the smile it leaves, and that can be learned in a few lessons.
